The best raw dog foodsubscription for Django

Although Ilove the varietyof recipes offered in theSignature Mixes subscription plan, I personally prefer Woof Complete for my dachshund, Django. Why? For one, Django is a"tweenie"dachshund weighing only 12 lbs. His meal portions are relatively small. The Woof Complete patties make it incredibly easy to feed Django. We canremoveone 4 oz. pattyfromits package, thaw it quickly, and use it completely before thawing another patty. The patty portion sizes are perfect for a small dog.

With the 2 lb. Signature Mix recipes, we have to thaw the entire 2 lbs. of frozen food which isn't as quick nor convenient. I will point out, however,that the food can be re-frozen as needed.For dogs like Django that don't go through all 2 lbs. of food within 4 days (the maximum recommended refrigeration period), this ensures food is never wasted.

The second keyreason I prefer theWoof Completeraw dog food subscription isbecauseits recipes are enhanced with vitamins and minerals and formulated to meet or exceed AAFCO standards. Django's personal review

There are only a handful ofdog foodmeals that Django gets truly excited for. Oma's Pridehas quickly becomeone of these meals for Django. When we're preparing Django's bowl with Oma's Pride, Django will intentionally sneeze at us (does anyone else's dog do this!?) and constantly lick his lips. He'll also do this little dance where he backs up and then jumps back towards us with excitement.

If I had to guess, the quality and freshness of Oma's Pride proteins arewildly appealing to Django's senses.Perhaps thefact that Django is geneticallydesignedtodigestrawprotein also triggers some animal instinct inside his sausage dog brain. Either way,his outsized reactionwhen we pull his Oma's Pride out of our refrigerator at meal time is evidence that he's a very happy dog. So long as he responds this way to Oma's Prideand so long as the food continues to be agreeable with his digestive systemwe'll happily continue feeding the meals to Django.

Our Favorite Raw Meaty Bones, Raw Dog Treats, and Raw Dog Food Toppers

Best Raw Meaty Bones

Djangoabsolutely loves Oma's Pride'sBeef Marrow raw meaty bones. I might even go so far as to say that these raw meaty bones are his favorite all-time treat.

Djangoseems to truly love the taste and stimulationthese raw meaty bones offer. He will work at the bone for 30-45 minutes until everytiny piece of meatis devoured and the bone ispicked clean.

Raw meaty bones are uncooked bones with attached meat, tissue, andcartilage. They come from a variety of animalschicken, turkey, pork, duck, and moreand providecalcium and other essential nutrients and minerals for dogs.They are an incredibly tastyand rewardingtreat for dogswhile alsoproviding mental and physical stimulation. As mentioned above, Django will happily gnaw on his Oma's Pride bones for 30 minutes or more!

Oma's Pride offers several popular recreational raw meaty bones for dogs including Django's favorite Beef Marrow Bone, theSplit Beef Knuckle Bone, Skinless Chicken Necks, and more. Since Django is a small dog with a huge appetite, we only give hima raw meaty bone once every two weeks or so. Other dog owners might want to feed their pups one of these raw meaty bones 1-2 times a week (leaving a few days in between each treat).

As a reference, Django enjoys the 2-3" Beef Marrow Bones from Oma's Pride which are recommended for dogs up to 25 lbs. Oma's Pride also offers raw meaty bones for medium, large, and XL dog breeds.

I've always gone out of my way to find the best single-ingredient dog treats for Django. Why?

Simple Digestion: Since single ingredient dog treats typically contain only one type of protein or carbohydrate source, they can be easier for dogs to digest compared to treats with complex ingredient lists. This simplicity can be beneficial, especially for dogs with sensitive stomachs or digestive issues.

Since Django is a smaller dog, we thawone sardine at a time and keep the rest of the package in the freezer. We'll adda tablespoon of the chopped sardines to Django's bowl for added nutrition.

Does Django love these sardines? Truthfully, he seems a bit on the fence about every sardine we've tried, including these.He eats these happily,but he doesn't express the same level of excitement over theseas he does with hisOma's Pride raw dog food, raw meaty bones, and raw dogtreats.
